He was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 11, 1929 to the late Joseph and Irma (Vannieuwkerke) <span class="highlight-text">Busch</span>. <span class="highlight-text">George</span> graduated from North Baltimore High School Class of 1946. After graduation, he enlisted with the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. On February 3, 1951, he married his loving wife of 54 years, L. Jeanne (Slack) <span class="highlight-text">Busch</span>, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Findlay, Ohio. <span class="highlight-text">George</span> worked for Columbus Conveyors and held the position of president of Willyard Erectors until his retirement. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Iron Workers Post #172, the St. Paul Catholic Church, 50 year member of the American Legion Post #539, and 50 year member of Moose Lodge Post #698. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Cindy (Bob) Smithson of Westerville, Julie (Ken) Gunn of Delaware, and MaryAnne (Brian) Meade of Lewis Center; son, Gary (Connie) <span class="highlight-text">Busch</span> of Westerville; grandchildren, April, Jacob and Randy Smithson, Travis, Stephanie and Abbey Gunn, Rachael and Laura <span class="highlight-text">Busch</span>, and Sean and Meghan Meade; brothers, Walter <span class="highlight-text">Busch</span> of Rudolph, Ohio, and Norman (Peg) <span class="highlight-text">Busch</span> of Toledo; sister, Dolores (Elmer) McCamey of Findlay; and sister-in-law, Sandra Slack of Findlay. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law: Georgianna <span class="highlight-text">Busch</span> and brother-in-law: William Slack. The family will greet friends Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the DeVORE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, SR 3 at SR 61, Sunbury. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 313 N. State St., Westerville. Father Rod Damico celebrant. Burial will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park in Lewis Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Delaware County Special Olympics, 1000 Alpha Dr., Delaware, Ohio 43015. He was born in Detroit, MI in 1925, to parents Joseph and Irma (Vanneiuwkerke) <span class="highlight-text">Busch</span> who preceded him in death. A man of honor and of his word, <span class="highlight-text">Norman</span> was proud to have served with the United States Army during WWII. After years of long days and nights applying his sharp mind and work ethic, Norm was able to establish multiple businesses in the Toledo area. He founded and operated <span class="highlight-text">Busch</span>, Inc. an excavating and construction company for more than 20 years, before retiring into fulltime farming in 1985; until last year, when his son succeeded him. As a father he wanted the best for his children. Often forced to work for weeks away from home, he had his eye on the future, knowing that his hard work and sacrifice would provide for his family. <span class="highlight-text">Norman</span> served as the President of Able Equipment, and was a member of the North Baltimore Post of the American Legion. As a grandfather, Norm acted as a role model and caretaker for his grandchildren, both of whom spent a great deal of time with their grandfather or "Poppy." Though he was a man of few words, at any given time you could find either of his grandchildren or children out on the farm with him enjoying his wisdom, insights or plying him with the oatmeal cookies that his wife or daughter would make. <span class="highlight-text">Norman</span> is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret <span class="highlight-text">Busch</span>; daughter and caregiver, Victoria <span class="highlight-text">Busch</span>; son, Richard <span class="highlight-text">Busch</span>; grandchildren, James Richard and Kristin Marie <span class="highlight-text">Busch</span>, and sister, Delores McCamey. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Walter and George <span class="highlight-text">Busch</span>. Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 Main St. Sylvania, OH, Friday, June 6, from 4-9 p.m., where Funeral Services will be held Saturday, at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Toledo Memorial Park.
